Call for offers Publishing house

The Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung is one of the largest political education institutions in Germany today, with branches in many countries worldwide. The Brussels Office operates as a think tank reflecting on European and international issues such as the global power shift and the socio-ecological transformation of today’s society. Madrid office as liaison office is organizational affiliated to Brussels office.

We are looking for a publisher that wants to collaborate with us in the production of a book about independent journalism in Portugal – “Pequenhas Resistencias”, a research book about Independent Journalism, based on the case study of Fumaça- of which we already have the text, in its final edited version. The publication is 38.000-40.000 words approx. length.

In this collaboration, RLS will cover the Layouting and Cover Design expenses. The partner publishing house will take care of the printing of the book. Likewise, the publishing house will be in charge of the distribution in bookstores, through its distribution channels, organization of presentations of the book. The associated publishing house will be able to recover the investment made in the printing of the book through the sale of copies, although the conditions of this investment will be established, according to our guidelines, in the co-publishing contract that will have to be signed between the parties.

Since the RLS does not have the capacity to carry out the corresponding part, and being aware that for the best results it is convenient to centralize all production processes with the same publisher, we ask your publishing house for an economic offer to carry out these services we would like to cover economically, so that the total production of the book is financed by both parties.

As mentioned above, we need the following services to be provided, in particular:

• Double revision of the text
• Paging and revision
• Layouting
• Graphic design for the cover

After being awarded the provision of these services to the selected publisher, the terms established in the co-publishing contract will be followed.
