Call for offers: In-depth study on housing
The Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung is one of the largest political education institutions in Germany today, with branches in many countries worldwide. The Brussels Office operates as a think tank reflecting on European and international issues such as the global power shift and the socio-ecological transformation of today’s society. Madrid office as liaison office is organizational affiliated to Brussels office.
RLS Madrid office has developed several projects related to housing. It is one of the main concerns of the Spanish population. The increase in the price of renting and buying has made access to housing difficult not only for young people or those in more precarious sectors but also for a significant portion of the population. The proliferation of tourist flats, the lack of regulation for temporary rentals, and speculation with housing as a market commodity have undermined housing as a fundamental right.
Disseminating information, promoting debates, and fostering political education on housing and the right to the city are among the primary tasks of the RLS Madrid office. Therefore, we are seeking a partner to develop an in-depth study on this topic.
Our objective is to create educational material that aids in understanding the current situation while also proposing alternatives to the prevailing housing model in Spain. Housing is a fundamental right under threat, not only in Spain but also worldwide.
We are inviting proposals for the development of an in-depth study on housing for an RLS online publication. Specifically:
