Call for offers: public exhibition

The Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung is one of the largest political education institutions in Germany today, with branches in many countries worldwide. The Brussels Office operates as a think tank reflecting on European and international issues such as the global power shift and the socio-ecological transformation of today’s society. Madrid office as liaison office is organizational affiliated to Brussels office.

We are calling for offers for Curatorial Services for the Migrant Archive of Carabanchel Exhibition. The purpose of this contract is to provide curatorial services for the artistic and political development of the Migrant Archive of Carabanchel and for the conceptualization, design, and implementation of its public exhibition, scheduled to open on 30 May 2026.

The project has focused on recovering and strengthening the migrant memory of the Carabanchel neighbourhood through collective memory methodologies, particularly through the social and political narratives embedded in objects linked to migratory journeys.

The current phase involves consolidating the Migrant Archive of Carabanchel as a cultural, political, and community-based device that contributes to democratic debate from an anti-racist and situated perspective.

The contracted curator or curatorial team shall be responsible for:

  • Collect and organize archival materials from the Migrant Archive of Carabanchel
  • Developing the curatorial concept and narrative framework of an exhibition.
  • Carrying out the artistic and political elaboration of the collected archival materials.
  • Designing the exhibition structure, spatial layout, and content organisation.
  • Coordinating the preparation and adaptation of materials for public display (textual, visual, audiovisual, and object-based).
  • Advising on mediation and public engagement strategies aligned with the project’s objectives.
  • Supporting the installation and final preparation of the exhibition.

The final deliverable shall be the fully curated, designed, and installed exhibition of the Migrant Archive of Carabanchel, publicly inaugurated on 30 May 2026.
