The Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung is one of the largest political education institutions in Germany today, with branches in many countries worldwide. The Brussels Office operates as a think tank reflecting on European and international issues such as the global power shift and the socio-ecological transformation of today’s society.

The Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung’s work in Spain and Portugal is coordinated from its liaison office in Madrid as a branch of our Brussels Office. The Madrid Liaison Office of the Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung seeks to establish a long-term agreement for translation services and will select the service provider through a competitive bidding process. The services to be provided are the translation and proofreading of texts, both from Spanish to German and from German to Spanish.

RLS intends to establish a framework contract with the selected service provider covering a first period until 31st December 2026, which may be renewed for up to two (2) additional years (untill 31st December 2028) based on satisfactory performance, quality of service and the operational needs of the foundation. We welcome applications from freelance translators and translation firms with proven experience and reliability and, if possible, have collaborated with left-wing organizations. Knowledge of progressive/leftist issues is an advantage.

  1. Terms of order and agreement, duly signed. Request this document in advance via the email address above. This document sets out the terms and conditions for the provision of the service.
  2. Translation tests (SP>GER and GER>SP). Request the tests in advance via the email address above.
  3. Resume and references.
  4. Fully completed version of the price list below.

 Translation services (four eyes principle)

  • Price per word SP>GER
  • Price per word GER>SP
  • Price per word proofreading in German
  • Price per word proofreading in Spanish
  • Any other costs associated with the service (i.e. special urgent tariffs, minimum rates…)

Please note that the prices you state in your application will be binding for the entire contract period, must also take into account the following deadlines.

We will not consider any proposal that does not meet all the specified requirements

All offers received will be evaluated according to the following criteria:

Price 50%
Result of the translation tests 30%
References/CV 20%
