Call for offers – Co-publishing of the Portuguese Edition of Generación Inquilina, Javi Gil (Capitan Swing)

The Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung is one of the largest political education institutions in Germany today, with branches in many countries worldwide. The Brussels Office operates as a think tank reflecting on European and international issues such as the global power shift and the socio-ecological transformation of today’s society. Madrid office as liaison office is organizational affiliated to Brussels office.

The Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung (RLS) promotes the dissemination of critical and emancipatory knowledge through publications that contribute to political education and public debate. Housing is one of the strategic topics of RLS, according to its programme goal: strengthen the discursive and organizational capacities of actors, so that they are better equipped to intervene in political, academic and public debates at regional, European and international levels

Javier Gil’s book, Generación Inquilina, originally published in Spain by Capitán Swing, examines housing crisis and the ways in which housing has been transformed into one of capitalism’s principal financial assets. The book also puts forward proposals for challenging this model and advancing social justice and the democratisation of urban and territorial development. These themes are closely aligned with the Foundation’s programme objectives.

The author, who holds the rights to the Portuguese translation, has transferred these rights to the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation for the purpose of publishing the book in Portugal.
